Just a follow up to let you know that I was out yesterday, just exploring around and had the chance to use the pan for dry panning. We do this frequently in the desert for lack of water. Many times we only take 2 gallons of water, so we dry pan down to a couple of tablespoons and then finish with the wet panning. This pan is superb for dry panning and works better than any others I have tried.

Got the Gold Rush Pan and was on the way to an outing in the desert. We only take a little water and drywashers when we go. We thought the trip would be great to try the new pan. After setting up and picking our spot, we sampled dry with the Gold Rush. We used it mainly like the instructions for wet panning. The concentrates it produced were impressive and helped to pinpoint where to set up the drywasher. The samples contained fine gold that we rarely see dry panning with the other pans we use. Ever since we started selling the Gold Rush Pan we have been getting emails how it is a great dry pan for the desert. The guys in the shop decided to get out and try the pan only dry panning. We went to some favorite spots that have been dry lately do to the lack of rainfall. We also hit some washes that are almost always dry and we never bothered to check before. We would dig in the cracks and crevices, then dry pan with the Gold Rush, to our amazement it works VERY well. We only took the pan and some hand tools. We concentrated the samples and took them back to the shop to see what we may have gotten. We panned into a tub and were really suprised. Thanks for the great design.
